Agree the packing and handling plan
Send product and packaging photos, the number of pieces, packed dimensions and weight, and explain which parts can break or scratch. Tell ANC about unusual shapes, large pieces and any special handling instructions. If repacking is needed, agree the work and cost before dispatch. Packing material weight is included in the freight calculation. The supplier and customer remain responsible for suitable packaging; ANC's terms exclude damage caused by inadequate packing or the goods' inherent fragility.
Protect each item inside the package
Use cushioning suited to the product, such as foam or air cushioning, and separate individual pieces with dividers. Fill empty spaces appropriately to reduce movement and prevent items from striking one another. Large fragile goods may need support and restraints at approved fixing points. Ask the supplier or packaging specialist to choose the materials and packing method for the actual item; one packing arrangement will not suit every shipment.
Use suitable outer protection and labels
Select an outer carton, frame or crate appropriate to the packed weight and handling conditions. The Foshan sea warehouse specifically requires fragile goods to have a wooden frame or wooden crate and Fragile labels. Apply clear handling information to the outside. A label helps communicate the contents, but the package still needs physical protection. Confirm any requirements for wooden packaging before your supplier prepares it.
Arrange insurance before departure
ANC does not provide automatic all-risk insurance. To request cover for the full goods value, submit a written request before shipment from the origin warehouse. Cover requires an additional premium and a special agreement. Confirm the policy's scope and exclusions, and retain the purchase invoice. Declaring the goods' value or paying freight charges does not itself arrange full-value insurance.
Inspect before signing and removing the goods
Count and check the goods at the destination warehouse before signing for and removing them. If you find damage, notify ANC and record the condition of the goods and packaging. The terms require claims in writing, supported by a valid purchase invoice, within seven calendar days of delivery at the destination warehouse. They also state that signing for and removing the goods waives claims for shortages or defects. Report any issue before collection is completed.
